Some days I’m the designer, some days I’m the photographer, sometimes the warehouse manager, even a delivery driver… most of the time I’m styling, working on a new artwork or lamp or sewing a throw 😂

And somewhere in between all of that, I’m also project managing renovations, chasing trades/suppliers, making decisions, solving problems and somehow keeping the whole thing moving.

There’s a lot that happens behind the scenes that never makes it onto our website or socials.

What you see: pretty furniture, styled rooms, beautiful finishes, photo’s

What you don’t see: the long days, late nights, moving furniture, unloading stock, making art, lamps, sourcing, styling, photographing, packing orders, loading vans, answering messages, organising deliveries, managing renovations… and trying to somehow do it all in between.

There’s no big team behind Impreshens. It’s mostly me with a lot of love, a lot of long days and probably far too much on my plate 😂 Sometimes I look at what we’ve built and think, how the hell did I actually do all of this?

Then I remember: one piece, one customer, one order, one room, one project, one very long day at a time. 

This is the unfiltered side of building something from the ground up - insane levels of work, high functioning anxiety (a supportive caffein addition Lol!) high hopes & dreams.

The styling, the moving, the lifting, the rearranging, the website, the marketing, social media management, the photographing… then doing it all again because something just doesn’t feel quite right. 

I started this journey because I wanted to help create homes that felt different. To make a difference. To build something truly unique to us, a place to bring my own vibe and style to the world, while simultaneously helping others lean into theirs.

You’ll often find me in the warehouse or showroom, styling, repairing, creating something new and moving furniture around until the room feels right before heading off to manage a renovation project and everything else that comes with running a small business.

Most nights, I do my best creative work. It’s also when everything is quiet… and I can finally think.

It’s not just a business to me.

It’s something I’ve built with my own two hands.

Every single item is sourced, unloaded, repaired, styled, photographed, packed & dispatched by our own efforts - This is why the constant plagiarism hits so hard. Cutting corners & not doing the hard-work, doesn't lead anywhere worth having. It's hard to see humans do this to other humans but we push on. 

I show up as my genuine self every day for the world to experience, pouring everything into what we’re building and maybe that's the problem... How much should we be sharing? Are we unknowingly sharing the blueprint? When does inspiration become copy/paste? Maybe we make it look easy (guilty of glamorising business) when in reality, it's anything but. 

And I think that’s why the little details and our customers and clients ongoing support, matter so much. We want genuine unique-ness for ourselves and our customers/clients but in 2026, it's becoming more and more difficult to run a small business in Australia, even harder if you're a creative. Not only are we a dying breed, we're also the most studied and replicated :(

In a world where everyone is trying to be like everyone else, we’ve always (proudly) walked our own path... Not sure where the road ahead goes but blocking out the noise and anyone slowly creeping into our lane seems to be working, so here’s to many more years of staying true to who were are, hoping our tribe finds us :)
