Doncaster Renovation (House No.2)

We had the pleasure of revamping this unique 1980’s Ritter Davis home last year giving it a modern facelift (in just 5 weeks!) The improvements completely transformed the look, feel and energy of this home!!

This house had excellent bones and a pretty good layout already but the dark brick, slate tiles and timber panelling were sucking the light out of the spaces. By painting all those dark surfaces white and changing the flooring to an oak timber, its softened and brightened the entire home without removing any of its character.

Our clients wanted to bring a little bit of luxury from the Hamptons to Melbourne, and that’s exactly what we achieved.

Details

Project Date: Feb 2022 - March 2022
Spaces: Entry, Dining, Lounge, Family Room, Hallway
Design Brief: Modern Hamptons

What we did:

  • Knocked out a dividing wall between the old dining and kitchen area to create an even bigger dining room
  • Reversed another wall in the dining to create a better study later/WIR layout for phase 2 of the project.
  • Created a new lighting plan with LEDs, Buster & Punch Switches
  • Installed new Hamptons style internal doors, French cavity slider and replaced the old orange sliding doors with modern black ones
  • Installed new hardware throughout
  • Opened the existing skylights and plastered to let in loads of natural light
  • Painted walls, brick, timber panelling
  • Plastered and patched
  • Installed Hallway Wainscoting/Panelling and Pendant
  • Removed old slate tiles and installed engineered timber
  • Updated the Skirting boards
  • Caulked

Nothing beats the satisfaction you get from a really good renovation. These before and after photo’s don’t disappoint.

Massive shout-out to our homeowners for handling the makeover chaos like champions, and our amazing team of trades. Extremely proud of how it came together.
